Objective: To investigate and compare the clinical result about the application of small gap anastomosis by scissoring and sleeve jointing autologous epineurium and traditional end-to-end anastomosis in repairing peripheral nerve rupture of the upper limb. Methods: From August 2016 January to August 2016,a total of 26 cases from the department of hand and foot surgery of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were selected to the study. These cases were randomly divided into 2 groups;small gap anastomosis(the first group, including 14 cases)and end-to-end anastomosis(the second group, including 12 cases)were used to repair the peripheral nerve rupture. After the third month and sixth month,we observed and compared the clinical results according to trial standard of the peripheral nerve function of upper limb developed by Chinese Medical Association Society of hand surgery in order to find the better operation method. Results: All cases were followed up for over 6 months. All operative cuts were proved healing by first intention and the function of nerves of upper limb all experienced recovery with different degrees. We evaluated the limb function at the third month and the sixth month according to trial standard of the peripheral nerve function of upper limb developed by Chinese Medical Association Society of hand surgery. The results showed that at the third month, both groups had no statistical difference(?2=2.150P>0.05).However,at the sixth month,The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(?2=7.564P<0.05).Conclusions: Compared to traditional end-to-end anastomosis, epineurium small gap anastomosis has more significant advantages in clinical work.
