Objective To explore the expression of CCL5 in bladder cancer and explore the relationship between the expression of CCL5 and the clinical parameters and prognosis of bladder cancer patients. To evaluate the value of CCL5 in predicting the prognosis of bladder cancer patients and provide a new theoretical basis on targeted therapy of bladder cancer. Methods The bladder cancer tissue microarray contains 87 cases of cancer tissue and 41 cases of adjacent tissue,of which 41 cases of cancer and adjacent to the corresponding,46 cases of cancer alone. We used immunohistochemistry to detect the expression level of chemokine CCL5 in bladder cancer and adjacent tissues. At the same time,Wilcoxon symbolic rank test was used to compare the expression differences of CCL5 in bladder cancer and adjacent tissues at the statistical level.Chi-square test was used to analyze the difference of CCL5 expression between different clinical parameters. The relationship between the expression of chemokine CCL5 and overall survival was analyzed by Cox regression analysis. Results The expression level of CCL5 in bladder cancer tissues was significantly higher than that in adjacent normal tissues(P <0.05).The expression level of CCL5 was not correlated with gender, age, tumor diameter,TNM stage and lymph node metastasis(P> 0.05).Cox model showed that overall survival of bladder cancer patients with CCL5 over-expression was significantly shorter than patients with CCL5 low expression(P = 0.0144).The single factor Cox proportional hazards model showed that lymph node metastasis(HR = 3.201,95% CI: 1.104 ~ 9.281,P = 0.032),CCL5 over-expression(HR = 3.003,95% CI: 1.182 ~ 7.627,P = 0.0144)was an independent prognostic factor for cancer patients.Clinical stage(HR = 2.593,95% CI: 0.97 to 6.936,P = 0.058)was highly correlated with prognosis in patients with bladder cancer. Conclusion The expression level of CCL5 in bladder cancer tissues was higher than that in adjacent normal tissues. The expression level of CCL5 was related to the prognosis and overall survival of patients with bladder cancer. It could be used as an index to detect the survival of bladder cancer patients and may be expected to be a new target for the treatment of bladder cancer.
