Background and Objectives:The frequency of clotting of dialysis extracorporeal circuit in heparin-free hemodialysis is much higher than normal dialysis.According to relative study report:clotting was prevented by prophylactic switching of the system and dialyzer up to 47%and system clotting occured about 4%,even with the risk of blood loss.Another study has reported:clotting is most frequently occured in the vein port, and heavy clotting in the vein port is the main reason that lead to uncompleted dialysis, rendering dialysis impossible.Although various solutions have been attempted to solve clotting, there is little solution to solve vein port clotting. And each solution has its own limitations and complications. The purpose of this study is to compare the application effect of conventional single port tubing with new double ports tubing that has got utility model patent. Methods:We enrolled 128 patients, from June 2014 to August 2016,who received hemodialysis treatment in a top three hospital in Zhejiang Province. They were randomized to the control group(n=64)and the experimental group(n=64).The control group use the conventional single port tubing to do heparin-free dialysis, and the experimental group use the new double vein ports tubing to do heparin-free dialysis. Two group received the same dialysis treatment:the dialysis machine, dialyzer type, dialysate ingredients, prerinsing before the hemodialysis and saline flushing during the hemodialysis were all identical in all patients. This study is to compare the blood loss, the time of changing vein port and the economic cost of two groups, and evaluate the application effect of new double vein ports used in the heparin-free hemodialysis. Results:There is significant statistical difference between two groups on the blood loss(?2=5.440,P=0.020),the time of changing vein port(t=64.954,P=0.000),the human cost of changing vein port(t=64.954,P=0.000)and the material cost(Z=-4.433,P=0.000).Conclusions:Our study proved that using double vein ports tubing in the heparin-free hemodialysis can reduce blood loss?material cost and nursing workload, which is feasible in heparin-free hemodialysis. It is worth being promoted in clinical.
