Objective:This study aimed to describe the patient's experiences as they in the short term following the urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy,to identify their health problem,then put forward specific nursing interventions to help the patients return to society better.Methods:A qualitative research of Giorgis' phenomenological approach was adopted.A purposive sampling strategy was used to recruit from outpatient department of a three grade a hospital in Hangzhou.A total of 15 patients were interviewed by face-to-face semi structured design.All the in interviews were recorded on voice recording equipment and transcribed into word documents.Memos and reflective diaries were written after each interview finished.Nvivo 11.0(English version)was used to help the data analysis in classification,coding,topic distillation.Results:Analyze the data,six main themes were extracted.1.Basic physiological needs limited:poor sleep,restricted drinking,sexual disorders2.Emotional distress:bad mood emerges,self efficacy decreased,great psychological pressure3.Social withdrawal phenomenon4.Ways to face the trauma:face and avoid5.The knowledge of recovery is poor6.most wanted help:information needs,medical resource needsConclusion:Patients'poor lived experiences suggested that we should take measures to intensify the propaganda of knowledge about urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy,improve its basic physiological needs,take measures to strengthen the training of urinary incontinence,improve the patients' negative emotions,give full play to the patients' support system,and pay attention on the patients' psychological health,so as to improve their quality of life.
