Investigation On Burn Factors Of Suburban Elementary School Children In Fuyang City

ObjectiveBurn factors of Suburban elementary school students in Fuyang city were investigated,including the reason of the burn,location,time and influence factors.By analyzing the current situation of burns of suburban pupils and their related predisposing factors,it provided decision-making basis for prevention of burns of suburban pupils.Methods A total of 1278 suburban pupils in Fuyang city of Anhui Province were randomly selected from the stratified cluster.The incidence of burns of elementary school students including urban families and rural migrant workers was investigated retrospectively from September,2015 to September,2016.All the students in the 24classes of the two primary schools were randomly selected.A total of 1278questionnaires were issued and 1223 were recovered.The effective recovery rate was95.7%.The survey adopted a cluster of random centralized surveys,face-to-face inquiries and self-filling methods,and telephone home visits to supplement the methods.The head teachers were asked to investigate the students in grade 1 and 2.The students in the third and sixth grades were asked by face-to-face inquiries and self-filling method.The investigators were professionally trained and supervised the investigation process.The questionnaire was designed by the famous professors of fire department of Anhui medical university.The questionnaire was revised by the experts and pilot survey.The contents of the questionnaire included elementary school students'general condition,cause of burn,time,location,process,treatment situation,prognosis and guardian status.The representative and reliability of the samples were tested with the results of review.The retest reliability was 0.77 and the content validity was 0.82.The data of this survey was double-entry with EpData3.0 software,and SPSS17.0 software was used for statistical analysis.The analysis methods are?² test and multi-factor Logistic regression analysis.Test level?=0.05.Results:Among the 1223 surveyed pupils,126 were burned.There were 90 boys and 36girls respectively.The total detection rate was 10.3%.The detection rate of boys was higher than that of girls?14.2%vs 6.1%,p<0.05?;the detection rate of burns among pupils in different age groups was significantly different,that of the first and second grade group was 15.3%;the fifth and sixth grade group was 4.8%respectively;Among all kinds of burns,the proportion of hot water burns was the highest?69.8%?.The detection rate of rural migrant workers in different families was the highest?8.3%?;The detection rate of guardians of primary school education and below was the highest?6.9%?.Multivariate analyses showed that gender,grade,family type and guardian's educational level were main influencing factors of pupil burns.Conclusion The detection rate of suburban pupils in Fuyang city was high;It was related to many factors.The first and second grade group was the high incidence of burn detection rate of primary school students.It was suggested to increase the health education from the aspects of school,family and society,in order to reduce the occurrence of burns in elementary school children.
