| Research Objective:Currently, drug therapy is the primary method of treating ADHD.However, due to multiple factors, medication compliance of ADHD patients is not satisfactory. This research investigated the the influence of factors including decision-making models, disease characteristics, and treatment pathways exerted on the medication compliance of ADHD patients,in order to provide insights for improving compliance.Research Method:1.72 children with ADHD were recruited from the Psychiatry Department of Wu Zhong Pei Memorial hospital from July 2015 to June 2016.Before treatment,we assessed the 72 patients by using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale(C-WISC)test,Number Cancellation Test(NCT),Parent Symptom Questionnaire(PSQ),and ADHD Diagnostic Scale to acquire their cognitive and disease characteristics. The medical treatment pathways of each patient also were asked and analyzed.2.55 ADHD patients were divided randomly into two groups, the experimental group and the control group. We conducted the new cooperate decision-making model on the experimental group and the conventional decision-making model on the control group to compare the impacts of these two models on the medication compliance.Research Results:1.Compared with the conventional decision-making model,ADHD patients using the cooperate decision-making model had better medication compliance. The difference of medication compliance between two groups was significant(F=4.51,p﹤.05);2.(1)ADHD patients’ cognitive characteristics impacted the medication compliance:Verbal IQ(VIQ)could positively predicted the compliance levels of ADHD patients(F=8.36,p﹤.001,regression coefficient = 0.14);VIQ and full IQ(FIQ)together could positively predicted the number of return visits of ADHD child patients(F=10.17,p﹤.01,regressioncoefficient = 0.22);(2)The PSQ hyperactivity sub scale negatively predicted the compliance levels of ADHD patients(F=8.36,p﹤.001,regression coefficient = 0.14);(3)Compliance levels of ADHD patients with inattentive presentation were significantly higher than patients with combined presentation(t=2.41,p﹤.05));3.Medication compliance varied significantly in terms of medical treatment pathways(F(2,73)=2.69,p﹤.05).Compliance levels of ADHD patients introduced by their teachers were significantly higher than those who introduced by their friends or the media.Research Conclusions:1.Using the cooperate decision-making model could significantly improve medication compliance of ADHD patients.2.ADHD patients’ intelligence, disease characteristics and predominant presentation had a great impact on medication compliance of ADHD patients.3.ADHD patients introduced by teachers had better compliance that those choosing other pathways. |
