| Objective:To investigate the correlationship between flow-mediated vasodilation(FMD)and blood pressure variability(BPV)in patients with essential hypertension(EH).Methods:A total of 113 inpatients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, diagnosed as essential hypertension were enrolled into the research.Characteristics,FMD and 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring(ABPM)were measured and then calculated the BPV parameters(wSD,ARV,SD,CV).According to FMD,the patients were divided into different groups: normal-FMD group(FMD≥6%)and impaired-FMD group(FMD<6%).Correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were performed to analyze the relationship between FMD and other factors. Results:The total 113 patients, aged 57.98±14.98 years, were composed by 50 males and 63 females.1.Patients in impaired-FMD group had higher systolic blood pressure(SBP)-ARV,SBP-wSD and SBPnight-SD compared to normal-FMD group[(11.53±2.85)vs(10.07±2.02)mm Hg,(12.48±3.31)vs(10.79±2.11)mmHg,(11.45±4.64)vs(8.85±2.00)mmHg,all P<0.05].2.Correlation analysis : FMD had a significant association with age, body mass index(BMI),homocysteine(Hcy),SBP-Mean,SBP-ARV,SBP-wSD,SBP-SD,SBPday-SD,SBPnight-SD,SBP-CV,SBPday-CV and SBPnight-CV(r=-0.328,-0.251,-0.223,-0.226,-0.322,-0.364,-0.329,-0.332,-0.318,-0.276,-0.253,-0.234,all P<0.05).3.Multiple linear regression analysis : SBP-BPV was correlated with FMD[ SBP-ARV(β=-0.386,P=0.001),SBP-wSD(β=-0.404,P<0.001),SBP-SD(β=-0.341,P=0.002),SBP-CV(β=-0.240,P=0.029)].Conclusion:FMD of patients with EH is significantly and independently correlated with SBP-BPV. |
