Objective:(1)To investigate the clinical, imageology and histological characteristics of WHO? meningiomas, and reasearched the relationships between them and the recurrence of WHO ? meningiomas.(2)To provide some reference for the diagnosis and treatment of WHO ?meningiomas. Methods:A total of 84 definite cases of WHO ? meningiomas based on 2016 WHO classification system at the People`s hospital of Shanxi Province between January 2007 and December 2014 were selected. The clinicopathologic data,,imageology, morphological features and immunohistochemical of the patients were reviewed. The survival and recurrence were observed. Results:There were 40 males and 44 females in the 84 WHO ? meningiomas patients. The age range was from 24 years to 67 years with mean of 50.5 years,IQR [45.5-57.0].There were 44 patients having a headache,6 patients having visual deterioration and 8 patients having epileptic seizures. The tumor maximum diameter range was from 2.6 cm to10.7cm.The follow-up time of the 84 patients ranged from 24 months to 105 months with mean of 72 months,IQR[55,82].The RFS(recurrence-free survival)range was from24 months to 94 months with mean of 57 months,IQR[48-75].Following up data showed that recurrence was in 30 cases.Simple Kaplan-Meier analysis showed that the patientswith age older than 57 years, tumor maximum diameter large than 5cm,partial resection or Ki67 greater than 8 percent have greater rate of recurrence than the others(P <0.05).And the multivariate analysis showed that age(RR=0.238,95 % CI :0.065~0.868),tumor maximum diameter(RR=18.936,95%CI:2.112~169.773),Ki-67(RR=13.377,95%CI:2.293~78.045)and the extent of resection(RR=3.082,95%CI:1.013~8.137)were the independent risk factors affecting RFS.Conclusion:WHO ?meningiomas has higher recurrence tendency.Improving the operation skills and total resection rate are the main way to improve the prognosis of patients with WHO ? meningiomas. At the same time, the elder patients with sub-total resection, large tumor and high Ki-67 may have higher recurrence tendency.Giving early radiotherapy and shorting the review period may improve the prognosis.
