Objective : To Compare the difference bettwen ESD and surgery of early gastroesophageal cancers in hospitalization time, hospitalization costs, complications and postoperative quality of life, survival and other aspects,so as to provide theoretical guidance for clinical treatment. Methods:Collected 398 hospitalized cases of early gastroesophageal cancers from January 2010 to July 2016.According to the different surgical methods divided into ESD group and surgery group.A retrospective case-control study was used to compare the different research projects.Results:(1)The average hospital stay was significantly shorter in the ESD group than in the surgery group(P<0.01),and the average cost of the ESD group was less than that of the surgical group(P<0.01).There was significant difference of complications between ESD group and surgery group with early gastric cancer(P=0.035<0.05).There was no significant difference of complications between ESD group and surgery group with early esophageal cancer(P=0.24>0.05).(2)The total postoperative health status of the ESD group was better than that of the surgery group(P<0.05).(3)There was no significant difference in recurrence rate and mortality rate(P>0.05)between ESD group and surgery group. There was no significant difference in the overall survival rate(P>0.05)between the two groups. Conclusion:In this study, the overall survival rate of early gastroesophageal cancers with ESD is comparable to that of surgery, but ESD group has short hospital stay, less cost, low complications rate and better life quality,so it can be used as main clinical treatment method of early gastroesophageal cancers.
