Objective: Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)can effectively reduce portal pressure and alleviate the clinical symptoms. But the long postoperative complications are usually common, such as stent stenosis, occlusion, thrombosis and so on.Ultrasound can test the blood flow of protal vein and TIPS for noninvasiving and effecting and repeating. It discusses the of after TIPS for ultrasound. Methods: One hundred and twenty-six protal hypertension pantients who had TIPS procedure form march 2013 to September 2016.Inner dimameter of portal, and peak flow velocity were measured, and peak flow velocity were measured using ultrasound before and one week, one month, six months after operation. After we calculate the portal venous blood flow and portal venous congestion index. Then observation of each patient during the follow-up period without shunt dysfunction(stenosis or occlusion)after every six months. Then we can record the number of cases and contrast with digital subtraction angiography. After all, ultrasound can determine the accuracy of the dysfunction, stenosis and occlusion. Results: There is no significant difference for portal vein before and different time after TIPS operation. The maximum blood flow velocity and the blow flow rate of portal vein is faster than that before operation(P<0.05).The maximum blood flow velocity and blood flow of portal vein, and the maximum velocity of the shunt is faster in a month and a week than after operation six month(P<0.05),but there is on difference one week compared with one month. The portal vein CI was significantly decreased in TIPS after operation, postoperative follow-up there was no significant difference in different time.Ultrasound diagnosis for 25 cases of shunt the number of obstacles in the regular follow-up process. But confirmed by DSA,which the 25 cases were all the functional obstacles in channel, including shunt stenosis 14 cases and 11 cases of shunt occlusion. The diagnostic accordance rate of stenosis by CDUS is 85.71%,and accordance rate of occlusion is about 90.91%.Conclusion: Ultrasound can measure the blood flow of portal vein and shunt in after TIPS for noninvasiving and repeating, and can evaluate the functional status of the stent in time.
