Degenerative lumbar diseases are some of the main causes of pain,disability,and decreased health-related quality of life.Posterior lumbar interbody fusion(PILF)and transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion(TLIF)with rod-screw fixation systems are still prevalent and effective surgical procedure for the treatment of degenerative lumbar diseases.Surgeons have paid increasing attention to the reconstruction of the lumbar lordosis and the sagittal alignment maintaining.Until now,however,there is no consensus on the precise curvature of rod-bending during PLIF and TLIF surgery.Decision-making is always based on individual surgeons' preferences and experience.We searched relevant articles with traditional approach to reviews.Besides pertinent secondary references were also retrieved.We are aware that this reviews has much more potential for bias than meta-analyses.However,we have endeavored to be inclusive and open minded.We also consulted experts in spinal surgery and radiology to produce this review.
