Surgical Treatment Of Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

Secondary hyperparathyroidism(SHPT)is a common complication of chronic kidney patients.The characteristics of SHPT are the increase of parathyroid hormone(PTH)secretion,parathyroid hyperplasia,calcium-pho sphorus metabolism disorder.It can cause bone pain,pathologic fracture,bone deformities,even serious disability.Even though more and more new drugs emerging,the effect of surgery has not been replaced.This review focus on the surgical treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism.The main content includes the pathogenesis,pathological character,operation indication,surgical method,imaging investigation and perioperative management of SHPT.
