Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of single-file Reciproc with full-length file Mtwo nickel-titanium instrument for the preparation of mandibular first molar, and to provide a reference for clinicians to choose the right device.Methods:Seventy-two patients(two hundred and fifty-six root canals in total)were randomly divided into group R and group M,and the root canals were prepared with Reciproc and Mtwo nickel titanium instruments. To prepare root canals, the former was treated with the crown-down preparation technique while the latter was treated with the full-length of preparation technique. Both groups were treated with the filling of root canal using the hot tooth gel continuous wave vertical compression technique. The root canal preparation time,as well as the pain level and the postoperative root effects two days after the root canal preparation were recorded. Results:The average time of preparation of individual teeth and the average time of single root canal were less than that of group M(P <0.05).There was no pain within two days after root canal preparation in both groups(P> 0.05).In the R group,8 root canals were overcharged(Distal root canal);4 root canals were underweight(Distal root canal);and116 root canals were filled.4 canals in group M were overcharged(Mesiolingual root canal)and 124 root canals were filled. There was no significant difference between the two groups in root canal obturatio(P>0.05).Conclusion: In this experiment, following standard process using Reciproc nickel-titanium single file can lead to higher quality in root canal preparation and less root canal preparation time.At the same time,no inter-appointment pain occurred after the root canal preparation and no difference in effects was observed using the Reciproc nickel-titanium single file and the Mtwo nickel titanium equipment.
