Esophageal cancer is a common digestive tract malignant tumor, is one of the three great cure of malignant tumor in our country, the morbidity and mortality is higher, Taihang mountains nearby provinces is particularly high, and the incidence of male was twice as many women. But due to early symptoms of esophageal cancer is relatively hidden, clinically diagnosed when most of the patients with tumors markedly from outside invasion, lymph node metastasis or combined with serious medical conditions, has belongs to middle-late, radical surgery is difficult to implement, or has lost operation opportunity. Radiation therapy becomes one of the main treatments of esophageal cancer. Esophageal traditional no obvious to improve the curative effect of conventional radiotherapy for many years, the 5-year survival rate is about 8%- 16%, the main reason for the failure of local control and relapse. With the development of radiation physics, three-dimensional con-formal radiotherapy and the implementation of the con-formal intensity modulated radiation therapy technology, precise radiotherapy has become the mainstream of the 21 st century radiotherapy techniques. High tumor target in highly con-formal dose irradiation at the same time protect the surrounding normal tissue, to improve treatment effect. To explore the ideal plan model of esophageal cancer between con-formal intensity modulated radiation therapy and three dimensional con-formal radiotherapy. The purpose of this research is based on 20 middle periods of esophageal cancer cases respectively using three-dimensional treatment planning system for three dimensional con-formal radiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT) con formal planning design, and carries on the analysis of dosimetry. From tumor target dose distribution and the amount of normal tissue by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of two methods of treatment, and to guide clinical work.
