Uterine myoma is a major cause of morbidity in women of a reproductive age(and sometimes even after menopause).There are several factors that are attributed to underlie the development and incidence of these common tumors,but this further corroborates theirrelatively unknown etiology,included age,early menarche,caffeine intake,environmentanl factors and so on.The progress of these studies make an important guiding role for the prevention and treatment of uterine fibroids.The gold standard diagnostic modality for uterine fibroids appears to begray-scale ultrasonography,due to its accessibility and relatively low cost,with magnetic resonance imaging being a close second option incomplex clinical circumstances.Especialy the functional MRI which can reflect the tissular information of pathology,physiology in many ways,might provide imageology evidence for correct classification,rational treatment and curative effect evaluation of uterine leiomyomas,bring the patients much more benefits.Our article seeks to review the already established information on the etiology and diagnosis of uterine fibroids. |
