Objective:To explore the association of the levels of serum glycated albumin with acute minor ischemic stroke, and to further analyze whether serum glycated albumin levels are significantly different in subclassifcation of acute minor ischemic stroke. In order to provide theoretical basis for diagnosis and treatment of different acute minor ischemic stroke. Methods: A total of 145 patients with acute minor ischemic stroke was enrolled in this sdudy from December,2014 to December,2016.For each patient, the vascular risk factors were screened and the levels of Serum glycated albumin were determined.84 cases of large artery atherosclerosis(LAA)and 61 cases of penetrating artery disease(PAD)was diagnosed by MRI,MRA and CTA.130 cases of normal subjects were selected as control group. This vascular risk factors included patients' age, gender, history of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia and other common risk factor were compared stroke group and non-stroke control group.Meanwhile, compared the above indicators between LAA group and PAD group. Results:Compared with the non-stroke control group, the rate of hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, smoking history, and the levels of fasting blood glucose, glycated albumin were significantly higher in stroke control group(P <0.05);Patients with diabetes, the levels of glycated albumin were significantly higher in the stroke group than the non-stroke control group[(21.3±4.7)%vs(17.2±1.9)%,P <0.01].Similar results were obtained in the non-diabetic subgroups.Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that elevated levels of serume glycated albumin were independently correlated with acute ischemic stroke after adjusting other traditional vascular factors among all subjects, diabetic subgroup and non-diabetic subgroup(P <0.05).Moreover there was statistically significant difference in age, gender, hyperlipidemia between LAA and PAD group(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference in Serum glycated albumin between the two groups. Conclusions: These results indicated that the serum level of glycated albumin become significantly elevated acute minor ischemic stroke patients, and it may be an independent risk factor of acute minor ischemic stroke. There is no statistically significant difference in the serume level of glycated albumin between LAA and PAD.
