Objective To evaluate the value of arthroscopic fixation with suture-bridge technique for greater tuberosity fractures. Methods Between September 2014 to April 2016,patients with greater tuberosity fractures fixed with arthroscopic suture-bridge technique were included and followed up.All included patients were treated with arthroscopic fixation with suture-bridge technique for greater tuberosity fractures. The postoperative evaluation was applied with X ray of shoulder. The active mobilization and strength rehabilitation were gradually introduced depended on patients’ status. The preoperative and postoperative shoulder function were evaluated with Constant-Murley score,ASES score,VAS pain score and UCLA score. Results Of all twenty-one patients, one patient lost follow-up,the other 20 patients were followed up for 10 mothes(rang: 5-12 mothes). There was no postoperative complication, include refracture, redisplacement, mplant failure and wound infection, occurred.Until the last follow-up,the mean Constant-Murley score was 93.5,mean ASES score was 90.8,meanVAS pain score 0.3 and mean UCLA score was 32.4.All patients received satisfied results. The data was statistically analyzed with SPSS 17.0.Compared with healthy side, the postoperative results were significantly different from preoperative results(P<0.05).Young patients showed faster and better recovery. Conclusion To fix greater tuberosity fractures, the arthroscopic suture-bridge technique can lead less trauma, more reliable fixation.the arthroscopic suture-bridge technique can effectively spread the shear force and torsion force, increase the fixed area, promot fracture healing. The arthroscopic fixation with suture-bridge technique is an effective treatment for greater tuberosity fractures.
