| Objective: To detect the expression of interleukin-21(IL-21)in serum of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma(NHL)patients and explore the IL-21 relevance to the pathogenesis and prognosis of NHL.Methods: 36 cases of NHL including 20 cases of untreated NHL and 16 cases of postchemotherapy NHL were recognized as observation group,13 healthy physical examination were selected as the control group. All sample obtained from Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College from December 2015 to December 2016.The levels of IL-21 in serum were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)to investigate its relationship with age, sex, stage, grouping, with or without internal and external organ infiltration and clinical factors. To analyze the relationship between serum IL-21 in patients with NHL before and after chemotherapy. To investigate the expression of serum IL-21 in patients with NHL and its clinical significance. Results: 1)The level of IL-21 in NHL patients was lower than which in controls(P<0.05).2)Compared with newly diagnosed NHL patients in stage I and II,the production of IL-21 decreased markedly in stage III and IV(P<0.05).the production of IL-21 in patients with systemic symptoms were obviousy lower than those without systemic symptoms(P<0.05).Moreover,related to infarcted organ infiltration group, the content of IL-21 declined significantly in extranodal organ infiltration group(P<0.05).3)The serum IL-21 level in patients with NHL after treatment remission was significantly higher than that of NHL before treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:1)the lower level of IL-21 in NHL compared with control group, downregula tion of IL-21 may have a certain correlation with the NHL patients.2)The expression level of serum IL-21 is related to the staging, grouping and extranodal invasion of NHL.The level of serum IL-21 in NHL patients treated with remission was significantly higher than that before treatment, suggesting that the expression of IL-21 may be reated to the prognosis of NHL. |
