3D printing technology is a kind of advanced manufacturing technology,which is known as the material manufacturing technology or rapid prototyping technology,and by which the shape complexity of parts is not limited.The combination of the Medical and 3D printing technology provides the customization,precision treatment with a strong technical support,there have been more and more attention and application research especially in orthopedics.The application of 3D printing in orthopedics is mainly focused on preoperative diagnosis and planning,the preparation of auxiliary equipment,the preparation of bone implants,bone tissue engineering and so on.This paper studies the application of 3D printing technology in orthopaedic therapy,and providing strong support for the treatment of precision and customization.The establishment of digital orthopedic model was studied.The skeletons were processed in the medical image processing software to reconstruct the skeletal three-dimensional model of the affected area by using the CT scan data of the patients.The orthopedic implants model was digitally modeled by using forward and reverse hybrid modeling methods,with which provided a complete digital model for preoperative simulation and 3D printing.The 3D printing process of orthopedic digital model was studied,and the 3D printing assistant model was applied in 11 cases of lesion repairing surgery.1: 1 physical model was made by 3D printing,so the visualization of digital treatment was improved.The bone substitute mold,surgical guide plate and other surgical aids were designed,so the success rate of surgery was improved,and the operation time was saved.The design,fabricated method and mechanical properties of customized external fixation brace after flexor tendon injury were studied.The three-dimensional model of forearm skin was reconstructed by CT scanning.According to the requirements of hand function and rehabilitation exercise,the three-dimensional model of finger part with UG was designed,and the customized fixture was obtained by splicing method.After the designed results met the requirements by the mechanics experiment,a brace was produced through the 3D printing so that a good fitted,beautiful,lightweight custom fixed brace was provide to patients.The physical model of tibial fracture was made by 3D printing.The compression experiment of tibial-single arm external fixation system was performed by three-dimensional digital speckle strain measurement system.The stress and strain distribution characteristics of the system were analyzed by numerical simulation.Thus a better surgical program was provided.
