Objective The study aimed to analyze the thrombolysis status and influencing factors of thrombolysis for acute ischemic stroke patients onset time less than 4.5 hours in Baotou Central Hospital. Methods We consecutively prospectively screened acute ischemic stroke patients within the previous 4.5 hours from emergency department, outpatients and inpatients of neurology department, and image center in our hospital over a 31-month time period(April 2012-November 2014),and reviewed the medical record of systematically chosen samples. The rate of thrombolysis and the reasons of non-thrombolysis were analyzed. Results The research team reviewed a total of 538 records(68.2% males, mean age 66.5±13years).Only 19.3% of the patients arriving within 4.5 hours received thrombolysis. The main reasons for exclusion included such factors as minor symptoms(39.6%),rapidly improving symptoms(13.6%),patients or relatives refusing thrombolysis(10.1%),in-hospital delays(8.8%),elderly people over than 80 years(8.8%).Conclusion The thrombolysis rate within time window of acute ischemic stroke is remarkably higher than that of years ago in China. The main reasons for exclusion are minor and rapidly improving symptoms and patients or relatives refusing.Thrombolysis continues to be currently underutilized in potentially eligible patients.
