Background:Delirium was an acute cognitive dysfunction defined by fluctuating in attention, confusion and pathological changes in consciousness. When entering ICU,patients facing unfamiliar environment, fear of death, communication barriers and lack of family member, could occur degenerative manifestations, which originally known as ICU syndrome or ICU psychosis.Nowadays it was called as ICU delirium.Delirium was recognized as an important cause of morbidity and mortality in intensive care units. The cardiac surgical intensive care unit(CSICU)was a place where patients underwent cardiac surgery admitted. The cardiac surgery procedure was complex, longer time and hurting the body and mind.It was an unspecific manifestation of acute illness occurring frequently in patients after cardiac surgery.Delirium had been attributed to a longer ICU stay and hospital stay.As efficacious treatment options were lacking, efforts should be made to prevent delirium.Identification of modifiable variables and patients at risk was crucial to the implementation of preventive measures. Objective:In our research, occurrence conditions and the risk of developing delirium among patients hospitalized accepted for cardiac surgery at our hospital were explored.Method:200 patients who received an cardiac surgery in our hospital were selected in this research. The general information, operation style, treatment in CSICU,et al were recorded.CAM-ICU scale was used to assess ICU delirium of the patients. The effect factors of ICU delirium were measured by single factor analysis and multi-factor logistic regression analysis.Result:Filtered into the standards of the 200 patients completed the research.64 patients had ICU delirium, the incidence was up to 32%.The single factor analysis showed that the age, lack of family members, disease severity(APACHE II score),hypertension, mechanical ventilation time, operation style and ICU stay time were related.Multi-factor logistic regression analysis showed that the age, lack of family members, disease severity(APACHE II score),mechanical ventilation time, operation style were the independent risk factors of ICU delirium. Conclusion:Incidence rates of ICU syndrome was high in cardiac surgery patients.Agedness, lack of family members, disease severity(APACHE II score),mechanical ventilation time and operation style were the effect factors of ICU delirium.
