Objective:The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of Post-Mastectomy Radiotherapy(PMRT)for Breast Cancer Patients with T1-T2 tumors and 1-3Positive Lymph Nodes. Methods: pubmed, medline,EMbase,Web of Science,CNKI and wanfang dade had been searched by two authors?studies about the effects of PMRT on breast cancer patients with T1-T2 tumors with 1-3 positive lymph nodes published from 2010 to2015 were searched according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria.the NEWCASTLE-OTTAWA QUALITY ASSESSMENT SCALE(NOS)was used to assess the quality of these articles?Review Manager 5.3 were used to amalgamate the effect size and test the heterogeneity of the results among the different studies? Results: 11 articles were included? All of these articles were cohort studies?5526 patients were finally recruited from these 11 clinical studies ? 1910 patients received post-mastectomy radiotherapy ? The last 3630 patients didn't receive post-mastectomy radiotherapy ? Meta-analysis showed that post-mastectomy radiotherapy can reduce the locoregional recurrence rate for the patient received post-mastectomy radiotherapy? The pooled HR was 0.48(95%CI = 0.37 to 0.62),and the pooled HR for disease free survival(DFS)of the PMRT group compared with no-PWRT group was HR=0.48,95%CI(0.34-0.68),P<0.0001?and the pooled HR for overall survival(OS)of the PMRT group compared with no-PWRT group was0.77(95%CI = 0.52 to 1.14)?Nuclear grade III status and more than 1 positive lymph nodes and ER(-)status and LVI(lymphovascular invasion)and T2 Tumor are the high risk of local recurrence. Conclusions: Our analysis revealed that PMRT significantly reduces the risk of LRR and improving disease-free survival in patients with TI-T2 tumors and 1-3positive nodes, but there was no benefit to the overall survival of these patients.and the post-mastectomy radiotherapy may be more effective for the patients who get more than 1 positive lymph nodes and ER(-)status and LVI(lymphovascularinvasion)and T2 Tumor.
