Epithelial ovarian cancer(EOC)is the most lethal gynaecological malignancy, and tumoural heterogeneity(TH)has been blamed for treatment failure.Tumor heterogeneity refers to the process of tumor development, the cell undergo several splitting and proliferation, its daughter cells varies in the genome, proteome and epigenetic, leading to differences in tumor cell proliferation, migration and invasion,The sensitivity of the drugs, outcomes and so on,promoting the evolution and development of tumor cells and exerting greater ability to adapt, and finally result in metastasis, recurrence and resistance of malignant tumor. The genomic and epigenomic atlas of EOC varies significantly with tumour histotype, grade, stage, sensitivity to chemotherapy and prognosis.Rapidly accumulating knowledge about the genetic and epigenetic events that control TH in EOC has facilitated the development of molecular-targeted therapy. The genetics and associated molecular pathways in ovarian cancer are increasingly being used for the development of novel targeted drugs with a much greater therapeutic specificity than standard chemotherapy. This article reviewed from the molecular characteristics of the Tumor Heterogeneity of EOC,three types of epigenetic alterations involved in EOC and the research status and clinical trials of three genetic associated molecular targeted therapies and three epigenetic associated molecular targeted therapies of EOC,hoping to provide new treatment methods and ideas for improving the survival rate of ovarian cancer patients.
