Objective : The aim of this study is to assess the expression of mechanism of metal protein 11?MMP-11?protein in breast cancer,to detect clinical significance of peripheral blood circulating tumor cells in breast cancer and to investigate the relationship between the expression of MMP11 protein and the circulating tumor cells in peripheral blood of breast cancer.Method: From July 2015 to December 2015,135 patients with newly diagnosed breast cancer in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University,who were diagnosed with breast cancer without any operation,radiotherapy and chemotherapy,were collected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University.The peripheral blood 10 ml was collected before operation and detection of circulating tumor cells in peripheral blood of breast cancer byCanpatrolTM.immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of MMP1 protein in breast cancer.Result: Circulating tumor cells were detected in peripheral blood of 112 patients with breast cancer in 137 cases,the positive rate was 82% ? In all patients,the average number of total CTCs was 4.73 the number from 0 to 36,and the average number of epithelial CTCs was 1.99?0-22?,the average number of biophenotypic CTCs was 2.06?0-17?,so and the average number of mesenchymal CTCs was?0-7?.Among 112 CTCs positive patients,the average value of CTCS of the three types of CTCs: the epithelial type CTCs was 48.7%,the biophenotypic CTCs was about 39.8%,and the mesenchymal CTCs was 11.5%.The expression of MMP-11 protein was positive in 102 cases of breast cancer and negative in 34 cases,the positive rate was 77%.The expression of MMP11 protein was correlated with the clinical stage of breast cancer?P<0.049?.The expression of MMP-11 protein in breast cancer was correlated with the presence of CTCs?P=0.009?,and the expression of MMP-11 protein in breast cancer was correlated with the number of CTCs?P=0.042?.Conclusion: The expression of MMP-11 in breast cancer is associated with circulating tumor cells,MMP-11 protein may promote the formation of circulating tumor cells by changing the microenvironment of breast cancer.The detection rate of circulating tumor cells in peripheral blood of breast cancer was 82% by using the CanpatrolTM CTCs and CanpatrolTM CTCsdetection technology is an efficient CTCs detection method.
