| Objective: To explore the characteristics of clinical diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary embolism with testicular cancer disease. Methods: a case of testicular cancer with pulmonary embolism from the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University was analyzed and reported with its related literature reviewed from PubMed, CNKI,Wanfang Data and VIP encyclopedia. And then summarize its clinical characteristics. Results: A total of 12 cases selected were analyzed, including a case report and 11 cases reported in the literature. The mean age of 12 patients were 27±10 years old. When pulmonary thromboembolism occurred, 9(75.0%) felt dyspnea, 8 (66.7%) felt chest pain. 9 (75.0%) patients were found the painless enlargement of testicle. 8 (66.7%) patients were observed that the tumour markers elevated, such as AFP、HCG、LDH.Distant metastasis and (or) lymphatic metastasis can be found in all patients who had testicular cancer with pulmonary embolism. 2(16.7%)patients died due to pulmonary thromboembolism. 10(83.3%) patients were treated by anti thrombosis and anti tumor treatment, during the follow-up period, testicular cancer control, without recurrence of thrombotic events. Conclusions: (1)Pulmonary thromboembolism should be alert when the testicular cancer patient presented with dyspnea or chest pain. (2 ) The distant metastasis of testicular cancer can increase the risk of pulmonary embolism. (3) The death rate of testicular cancer patients accompanied with pulmonary embolism can be elevated. |
