Alvimopan Promote The Recovery Of Gastrointestinal Function After Radical Cystectomy:Metaanalysis Of Effectiveness

Purpose: to evaluate the efficacy of alvimopan accelerates gastrointestinal recovery after radical cystectomy.Methods: searched for studies investigated alvimopan for patients with bladder cancer under went radical cystectomy in Cochrane Library?Pubmed?Web of Science from 2000 to 2017.A Meta-analysis were performed.Data on study methods and results were also extracted after elimination of the literatures which do not conform to the requirements.And quality assessment was performed based on Jadad rating scale and Newcastle-Ottawa scale.Statistical analysis was performed by the Rev Man 5.3.Efficacy was assessed by first toleration of solid food,and length of stay,rate of postoperative ileus.Results: Eight studies were identified.On Meta-analysis,alvimopan first toleration of solid food(HR 1.24,95%CI[1.12-1.38],P<0.0001),length of stay(WMD-1.16,95%CI [-1.58,-0.73],P<0.00001),rate of postoperative ileus(OR0.27,95%CI[0.16-0.48],P<0.00001)Conclusions: Alvimopan significantly accelerates recovery of gastrointestinal function in patients underwent radical cystectomy,reduces the occurrence of postoperative ileus.
