Objective: To observe the change of cerebral perfusion in patients with brain arteriovenous malformations (BAVM) before and after embolization. According to the cerebral perfusion change seeking specific clinical measures to reduce the incidence of complications. Methods: The data of 21 patients treated with BAVM embolization were analyzed retrospectively, 3 days before the operation, postoperative care at the end of ICU and postoperative 3-6 months brain MR PWI were examed. Based on regional cerebral blood flow(rCBF), regional cerebral blood volume (rCBV), regional mean transit time (rMTT) and regional peak time (rTTP) detection, understand the patients in each period of cerebral perfusion changes, explore how to improve the clinical treatment. Results: Before the embolization in the blood supply area of BAVM feeding artery rCBF and rCBV compared with the contralateral hemisphere was low, prolonged rMTT; postoperative ICU monitoring was ended the rCBF and rCBV was increased, rMTT time was shortened; after 3?6 months follow-up cerebral perfusion parameters weren't significant difference. Conclusion: MR PWI can be used to observe the changes of cerebral perfusion induced by BAVM embolization, which can provide the basis for the improvement of treatment. The changes of cerebral perfusion induced by embolization were transient, and the cerebral perfusion was return to normal in the end. Clinical need to major prevent complications caused by normal perfusion pressure breakthrough.
