| BackgroundThe occurrence of tumor is closely related to chronic inflammation,inappropriate inflammatory response promoting tumor’s evolution,systemic inflammatory response predictor of tumor progression and poor prognosis.In recent years,more and more research which about inflammatory and esophageal carcinoma had been reported,but the results are not the same.The NLR is shown in a wide variety of tumor associated with tumor biological behavior such as tumor depth,pathologic classification,metastasis,and clinical TNM staging.The cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2)and nuclear transcription factors-kappa B(NF-κB)have been reported in a variety of digestive tract tumor expression,but COX-2and NF-κB’s expression in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)is seldom reported.This study analyzes the NLR with ESCC of the relationship between clinical pathological characteristics,and detection of ESCC and adjacent tissues in the expression of COX-2 and the NF-κB,further COX-2 in ESCC,the relationship between the NF-κB expression and NLR were discussed.ObjectiveTo detect the expressing of NLR in ESCC and the relationship with clinical pathology,the expression of COX-2 and NF-κB in ESCC;and to explore the relationship among NLR,COX-2,NF-κB in ESCC.MethodsSelected the 60 ESCC patients who were diagnosed by pathological in the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinxiang Medical University(Case Group),and the 42 healthy cases of the same period(Control Group).Each group’s NLR was calculated from blood routine test,and then analysis the differences between the two groups in NLR,and further analysisthe relationship between NLR and ESCC’s clinic pathological characters.Data on the expression of COX-2,NF-κB were evaluated using Immunohistochemistry in 60 cases with cacinoma and para-carcinoma tissues.The expression in different pathological tissues,as well as their correlation with ESCC were analyzed.In NLR the median value of 3.0 for the node,<3.0 for low NLR group,>3.0 for high NLR group,analysis the expression differences of COX-2 and NF-κB between the low NLR group and high NLR group And analysis the expression relationship between COX-2 and NF-κB by Spearman rank correlation analysis.Results1.The levels of NLR in case group and control group were 3.75±2.22,1.79±0.77.Compared with control group,the case group’s NLR were obviously higher(P<0.05).2.NLR and patients’ age,gender,lesion location,length had no obvious correlation(P>0.05),but NLR closely related to the ESCC’s depth of lesion,lymphatic metastasis,distant metastasis,pathological classification and clinical TNM staging(P<0.05).The positive expression rate of COX-2 and NF-κB were 81.7%(49/60)and56.7%(34/60)in ESCC tissues,while 58.9%(35/60)and 36.7% in para-carcinoma tissues.The expression rate of COX-2,NF-κB in ESCC tissues were 58.9%(35/60)and36.7%(22/60).Compared with esophageal squamous cell para-carcinoma tissues,COX-2,NF-κB’s positive rate in carcinoma tissues was more higher(P<0.05).Cox-2’s expression associated with ESCC’s length,infiltration degree(P<0.05),while no relationship with age,lesion location,lymphatic metastasis,distant metastasis and pathological classification(P>0.05).NF-κB’s expression associated with ESCC’s infiltration degree,lymphatic metastasis,distant metastasis(P<0.05),while has no relationship with age,length,lesion location,pathological classification(P>0.05).3.In ESCC tissue,the COX-2 and NF-κB’s expression is positively related with each other(P<0.05).COX-2 and NF-κB’s positive expression rate is 94.12%(32/34)and73.53%(25/34)in high NLR group,is significantly higher than the low NLR group whichCOX-2 and NF-κB’s positive expression rate is 65.38%(17/26)and 34.62%(9/26).Conclusion1.NLR could be play an important role in evaluating the malignant biological behavior of ESCC.2.COX-2,NF-κB could be involve the development of ESCC by promoting the process of chronic inflammation. |
