| Rheumatic heart disease is one of the most common cardiovascular diseases leading young people to die in developing countries.Among them, mitral valve disease is most common one.Surgical operation is the most effective treatment to manage the mitral valve diseases in the clinic.Compared with traditional median thoracotomy, minimally invasive cardiac surgery has some prominent advantages, such as decreased trauma, lower incidence of complications, shorter hospital days, and more likely to be accepted by patients for the satisfactory cosmetic results,so it becomes more and more prevalent recently, and is likely to replace the traditional median thoracotomy approach.Herein, this review expatiates the development of minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, and respectively summarize several diffirent approaches of minimally invasive mitral valve surgery, sush as the partial sternotomyl approach, the right minithoracotomy approach, the thoracoscope assisted minimally invasive cardiac surgery and the robot assisted minimally invasive approach.By analyze the safety, feasibility, efficacy and prognosis of these four minimally invasive approaches, this review evaluates the development trend and prospect of minimally invasive mitral valve surgery in the future. |
