Abstract/Summary:
Objective:Investigate the clinical efficacy of microvascular decompression(MVD)in the treatment of hemifacial spasm(HFS)with single vessel compression and multiple vascular compression.Method:In this study we report 44 patients with HFS from January 1,2015 to December 30,2016,their clinical data were respectively analyzed and the efficacies were recorded.Result:There were 15 male patients(n = 34.1%)and 29 female patients(n = 65.9%)In this study. The right side was 24(n = 54.5%)and the left side was 20(n = 45.5%)in all the patients. The total cure rate was 40(n=90.3%).The single vessel compression in 32 cases,30 cases were cured, the cure rate was 93.8%,2 cases improved,0 cases were invalid.12 cases of multiple vascular compression,10 cases were cured, the cure rate was 83.3%,1 cases improved,1 cases were invalid.HFS effect of single vessel compression and multiple vascular compression was statistically analyzed by P<0.05,there were significant differences. Two groups were found no recurrence of patients. Conclusion:MVD is a safe and effective method for the treatment of HFS.And there are differences in the efficacy of HFS in patients with single or multiple vascular compression, and the effect of single vessel is superior to that of multiple vessels.
