BackgroundLupus-associated pancreatitis has not been frequently seen clinically. However,it is easy for it to escape diagnosis and to be misdiagnosed due to its complicated symptoms and causes and patients' barely satisfactory recovery during clinical treatment.Up to so far, understanding of lupus-associated pancreatitis has mainly come from case reports and review researches into small samples.Common knowledge is far from enough on its pathogenesis, clinical symptoms and therapeutics, and its damages towards body organs and systems even have set common obstacles to treatment in multiple disciplines.ObjectiveBy literature review of previous progress of clinical researches into lupusassociated pancreatitis, this paper is to provide a detailed review as references and help towards the understanding and clinical treatments of lupus-associated pancreatitis.MethodsThrough thoroughly searching for both Chinese and English papers on progress of clinical researches into lupus-associated pancreatitis in database such as CJFD,CDMD,CPCD,CBM,NKI,CSPD,CQVIP,PubMed,Medline,Ovid,Embase,Cochrane Library, this paper serves as a summary of all the results of previous related studies.Result and conclusionLupus-associated pancreatitis is a pathological change of pancreatitis closely associated with active lupus. With an annual incidence rate of 0.4% to 1.1%,its morality rate reaches 37%,while that of the critically ill 75%.With complicated conditions and no obvious or typical clinical manifestation, once this disorder diagnosed, early treatments need to be adopted.Situations are likely to indicate negative post treatments such as bleeding or necrosis of the pancreas, multiple organinvolved, severe infections etc.,which should be closely observed and positively treated. For the treatment, moderate to high doses of corticosteroids and immunosuppressors is safe and effective toward lupus-associated pancreatitis, for they neither are the major causes for the disease nor worsen the situation. On the contrary, they are conducive to easing the situation and improving the post treatment.
