Objective:To explore the prognosis.of Legg—Calve—Perthes disease after femoral varus osteotomy. Methods: A continuous series of 15 consecutive patients(17 hips)accepted femoral varus osteotomy between January 2011 and March 2016 was as study group. There were 9 males and 6 females,The mean age of the patients was(7.23±1.1)years(range,6-9 years).Cause:.Legg—Calve—Perthes disease.were assessed clinically with Mckay Criteria and radiologically with Willett assessment. Results: All of patients were complete follow-up.The average follow up time was(21.2±11.7)months(range,10-48 months). The clinical rusults showed that 8 are excellent(the rate was53.33%),4 are good(the rate was 26.67%),the overall excellent or good rate was 80%.The radiologically results showed that the epiphyseal high, percentage of acetabular cover and center edge angle significantly better than before. Conclusion: femoral varus osteotomy could keep sphericity of the femoral head and congruity with acetabulum of the hip for children with Legg-Perthes disease. And also could be in aid of preventing premature arthritis of hip.It should be an effective procedure for treating Perthes disease in children And be used in the clinical practice..
