| Objective: To investigate the risk factors of postoperative complications of lung cancer resection in elderly patients and provide with effective preventive measures to enhance recovery after surgery. Methods: The clinical data of 149 elderly patients(Ageā„65 years old)who underwent lung-cancer-resection in Department of Thoracic Surgery(First Hospital of Jilin University)were collected through Link Doc(?) System(Age,Gender,Smoking Index,Hypertension,Diabetes,Coronary heart disease,Cerebral apoplexy,BMI,Preoperative Serum albumin,Preoperative FEV1%,Operation type,Operation time,Intraoperative Bleeding loss,Pathology,Pathology stage).Chi-square test and multifactor logistic regression analysis were used in the risk factors.Result: Postoperative complication rate was 35.6%(53 patients)in the group(n=149).2 patients(1.3%)died.Age,Smoking Index,Diabetes,BMI,Preoperative Serum albumin,Preoperative FEV1% and Operation time showed statistically significant by Chi-square test(p<0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that Age(OR=4.422,95.0%CI1.666~11.738),Smoking Index(OR=0.322,95.0%CI 0.111~0.935),Operation time(OR=0.333,95.0% CI 0.136~0.812),Preoperative FEV1%(OR=4.691,95.0%CI 1.488~14.790),Diabetes(OR=0.325,95.0%CI 0.130~0.814),Preoperative serum albumin(OR=0.216,95.0%CI 0.089~ 0.526)were independent risk factors for complication. Conclusion: The incidence of postoperative complications was high in the elderly patients with lung cancer.Age,smoking index, operation time, preoperative FEV1%,preoperative serum albumin and diabetes are the independent risk factors.Preoperative measures should be taken to reduce perioperative mortality and enhance recovery after surgery. |
