Level And Significance Of Serum Neutrophil Gelatinase-associated Lipocalin Of Lung Cancer Patients

Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore the level and significance of serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin(NGAL)of lung cancer patients,and contribute to its diagnosis and intervention earlier.Methods: We choose the lung cancer patients who was explicited by pathological diagnosis but without radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the fifth affiliated hospital of Zhengzhou university from October 2014 to October 2016 as object in this study.112 lung cancer patients were selected in this study.Meanwhile,we choose 112 healthy person in the homochronous from the medical examination center of the fifth affiliated hospital of Zhengzhou university as control group.We collected the general data,histopathologic and immunohistochemical results.The blood samples were collected after 12 hours of fasting.Serum NGAL of lung cancer group and control group were examined by ELISA.We analysed the data by SPSS 19.0.And we compared the data of two groups by t test,chi-square test and one-way ANOVA to find whether there was a statistically significance.We applied multivariate logistic regression to analyze the related risk factors of occurrence,development and metastasis of lung cancer in this study.Results: The NGAL level of lung cancer group is higher than the control group(P<0.05).The smoking index(SI)of lung cancer group is obviously higher than the control group(P<0.01).By compared the serum NGAL level of two groups,we found there were no statistically significance in age,gender,smoking history.In the lung cancer group,There were no statistically significance of the serum NGAL level in different location,size,pathological type of tumor and whether there exist regional lymph node metastasis.The NGAL level of poorly-differentiated lung cancer group is higher than well-differentiated lung cancer group(P<0.05).The NGAL level of the distant metastasis group is obviously higher than the without metastasis group.The NGAL of stage ? is obviously higher than the stage ? and ?.Multivariate Logistic regression analysis showed that serum NGAL(OR=2.942,P=0.021)and SI(OR=8.610,P=0.013)were related to the occurrence of lung cancer,and the serum NGAL(OR=5.603,P=0.035)was related to the metastasis of lung cancer.Conclusions: 1,The serum NGAL is significantly increased in lung cancer patients.2,The serum NGAL is related to the occurrence of lung cancer.And the serum NGAL is related to the degree of differentiation,metastasis and clinical stages of lung cancer.The serum NGAL may evaluate the prognosis of lung cancer patients to some extent.
