ObjectiveIdiopathic short stature(ISS)is a usual disease which has short stature or insufficient growth,the reason of the disease is not yet clear in recent years.This disease is about 40%of short stature children.Have a unhealth influence by the short stature.Therapy this disease is for a good stature and life in future.ISS often treatment by The recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH)and traditional Chinese medicine which base on spleen deficiency,kidney deficiency,or deficiency of both the spleen and kidney.By contrast of traditional Chinese medicine therapy,the recombinant human growth hormone(rhGH)therapy has a significant effect in first year.This study aims is to explore the clinical efficacy and safety of recombinant human growth hormone cooperate comprehensive treatment on ISS by growing development and biochemical indexes change,to seek for a individuation,effective,safe and economic treatment for ISS.Methods63 cases of children with ISS from July 2011 to October 2012 in an affiliated sports hospital were divided into three groups according to the method of random number table.18 children in no treatment group,25 children in group I were treated with recombinant human growth hormone cooperate comprehensive treatment and 20 children in group ? were therapyed with Chinese medical herbs cooperate comprehensive treatment.The research of all groups are 12 months.Record the general data before treatment and the body height,body weight,bone age,T3,T4,?FT3?FT4?TSH?ALT?AST?GGT?CRE?UREA?FBG?IGF-1?IGF-BP3 of children in two therapy groups were checked before treatment,6 months and 12 months after treatment respectively.ResultsThe general data(The body height,body weight,bone age,GH)have no significant difference of three goups(P>0.05);After 6 months,12 months,The body heights and annual growth rate of two therapy groups have significant difference compared with no treatment group(P<0.05);The annual growth rate in group I is greater than group ?(P<0.05);There are no significant difference in bone age change a between two therapy groups(P>0.05);The body weight gain in two therapy groups are larger than that in no treatment group(P<0.05).All of the Body Mass Index is normal.IGF-1 and IGF-BP3 level greatly increased after 12 months treatment in two therapy groups(P<0.05);There were no significant difference of T3,T4,?FT3?FT4?TSH?ALT?AST?GGT?CRE?UREA and FBG before and after therapy in two therapy groups.(P>0.05).ConclusionRecombinant human growth hormone cooperate comprehensive treatment for ISS children can obvious promote the growth,have an advantage over the traditional Chinese medicine in the first therapy year.IGF-1 and IGF-BP3 level greatly increased but not exceed 2SD.The bone age didn't obvious increase.there were no significant difference of T3?T4?TSH?FT3?FT4?TSH?ALT?AST?GGT?CRE?UREA?FBG.It is effective and safe by rhGH therapy.
