Comparative Study Of Clinical Effect Between Bone Level Implant And Soft Tissue Level Implant In Posterior Region

Objective To evaluate the clinical effect of Straumann bone level implants and soft tissue level implants in posterior region.Methods 108 cases(60 male,48 female)of single posterior tooth loss are selected from patients treated at Stomatology Dental Implant Center from 2013.1 to 2014.12,with a total number of 108 implants,placed 58 Straumann soft tissue level implants(group A)and 50 bone level implants(group B),respectively.The implant upper crowns were placed after three months.2-year follow-up revealed success rate of implants according to the Albreksson-Zarb evaluation criteria,X-ray measurements were performed preoperative,3 months,6 months and one year after implantation,to evaluate the marginal bone loss around implants,and observed changes of soft tissues around implants by periodontal probing examination including periodontal probing depth(PPD),modified plaque index(m PLI)and modification sulcus bleeding index(m SBI),obtained feedback of patient satisfaction.Results The success rate of all the implantations in the 108 cases was 100%.2 years after implantation,alveolar bone around soft tissue level implants made decrease resorption and alveolar bone around bone level implants did evenly and slowly.Observation and analysis on two kinds of implants,the level of bone resorption in bone level implants was better than in soft tissue level implants.No difference in soft tissues around implants between the two groups.One year after implant surgery,108 cases mPLI were 0 or 1,m SBI were 0,1 or 2,group A PPD was 2.86±0.56 mm,group B PPD was 2.78±0.54 mm.Two groups' patient satisfaction feedback was similar,only 1 to 2cases were dissatisfied in each group.Conclusions With appropriate indications and a standard technique,in posterior area,a high success rate can be obtained,periodontal soft tissue shows good condition,the bone resorption around bone level implants is less and more even compare to soft tissue level implants.A long-term clinical effects and the success rates remains to be seen.
