Research On Therapeutic Thoughts And Clinical Characteristics Adopted In Treatments For Arthromyodynia By Xin'an Wang's Family

1 Object The Chinese medicine was developed to its peak during the Ming and the Qing Dynasties when lots of famous medical books and academic disciplines were sprang up to innovate and complement medical theories and skills.Meanwhile,the “Wang's medicine in Fu'e”,which was called as “Wang's medicine in Xin'an”,became famous for their significant academic influences.Physicians in Wang's family have unique insights for treating various diseases with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM).To highlight the prominent medical skills of Wang's family,this subject was consisted of documentation and medical records of four representative physicians in Wang's family,which is the first time we systematically analyse their therapeutic thoughts and clinical characteristics in treating arthromyodynia to explore their academic thoughts and effective medications.The subject will provide important guiding effects and practical value for inheriting and spreading the Xin'an medicine,as well as enriching theories and practices of TCM.2 Content We mainly studied the origin and developments of etiology of arthromyodynia,along with presentative Xin'an physicians' interpretations of arthromyodynia and their impacts to therapeutic thoughts of Xin'an Wang's family.Therefore,the understanding about etiology and treatments for the disease of representative physicians in Xin'an Wang's family were distilled by coordinating related literatures and materials combined with computer techniques.3 Methods a)Based on monograph consulting and literature searching,relevant references for the subject were systematically collected to review interpretations and treatments of presentative Xin'an physicians and their influence on therapeutic thoughts of Xin'an Wang's family;b)Sorting and screening the collected data,uniting it with medical records and TCM syndrome differentiation,therapeutic thoughts and clinical characterastics in treatments for arthromyodynia by Wang's family were extracted;c)The system of “TCM Heritage” was used to standardize clinical cases data and investigate the rule of medication,which will show characteristic therapies of the Wang's objectively and intuitively.4 Results The four representative physicians of Xin'an Wang's family have obviously different thoughts and clinical characteristics in treatments for arthromyodynia while they were also came down in one continuous line.Their distinct styles and spirirts to integrate new knowledge jointly created the unique advantages of Xin'an Wang's in medical treatments which can be referenced by future generations.Wang Zhongqi has the following characteristics of therapeutic thoughts in treating arthromyodynia:a)ased on classical medical books and grasping pathogenesis cautiously;b)focusing on the differentiations between meridians;c)the beriberi is one kind of arthromyodynia and it was caused by downward flow of dampness.His experience of treating arthromyodynia embodied in two aspects:a)resolving dampness and dredging collaterals as well as regulating the Yangming channel;b)strengthening the medullary substance of the kidney,nourishing Yin and benefiting the essence.Wang Renzhi has the following characteristics of therapeutic thoughts in treating arthromyodynia:a)treating by distinguishing meridians,and determinating etiologic factors based on syndromes;b)disharmony between Ying and Wei can lead to body's numbness and involuntary movements;c)the sustained arthralgia can result in impotency of phlegm and blood stasis.His experience of treating arthromyodynia embodied in three aspects:a)harmonizing Ying-qi and Wei-qi to dredge collaterals;b)benefiting qi for activating the blood circulation,eliminating phlegm and removing blood stasis;c)warming kidney and activating Yang to consolidate the vital base.Wang Letao has the following characteristics of therapeutic thoughts in treating arthromyodynia:a)deficiency of liver and kidney essence,combined with rheumatic pathogen can bring about the arthromyodynia;b)the stagnation of dampness with disharmony of qi-blood worsening the disease.His experience of treating arthromyodynia embodied in two aspects:a)reinforcing the kidney emolliating the liver by purgation-tonifying therapies;b)expelling wind and relieving dampness,as well as activating meridians to stop pain.Wang Jian has the following characteristics of therapeutic thoughts in treating arthromyodynia:a)integrating traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine to treat arthromyodynia by different stages and patterns;b)the toxin accompanied with phlegm and blood stasis blocks the flow of qi and the blood produced obstinate arthralgia.His experience of treating arthromyodynia embodied in three aspects:a)colligating therapies of three physicians to treat arthromyodynia;b)using classical prescriptions and insect drugs flexibly;c)invigorating the spleen for eliminating dampness,mixed with detoxification method.5 Conclusion The Xin'an Wang's family have been keeping their medical skills for seven generations and they will continue the inheritance.Erudite and informed,they devoted themselves to developing the new therapies through critical assimilation of the old,thus forming their own styles.With the impetus of modern scientific research methods and advanced experimental techniques,the “Xin'an Wang's medicine” integrates the inheritance model of TCM with modern personnel training system to continuously extend the academic connotation of “Xin'an Wang's medicine” which has made a typical demonstration for academic inheritance and development of varieties medical schools.This paper aims to conclude therapeutic thoughts,clinical characteristics and prescription regularities of four presentative physicians by analizing their writings and clinical cases.It will play an important role in reference and promotion for clinical diagnosis and scientific researches of TCM.
