Objective:To explore the feasibility and safety of para-recurrent laryngeal nerve lymphadenectomy of Mckeown-type minimally invasive esophagectomy. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma 163 cases who underwent minimally invasive McKeown resection of esophageal carcinoma from Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University.According to the operation the patients were divided into routine group of 63 cases, right recurrent nerve lymph node dissection group(the group)53 cases, bilateral recurrent laryngeal nerve lymph node dissection group(bilateral group)47 cases, and compared postoperative pathology, operation time, intraoperative bleeding volume, postoperative hospitalization time, lymph nodes and pneumonia, anastomotic fistula, laryngeal nerve injury and other complications of patients in each group.Pathological conditions is consisted of the location of the tumor, the degree of differentiation,T stage and pathological stage.Postoperative complications were followed up for 6 months.Result: There was no significant difference in tumor location, pathological differentiation degree,T stage and pathologic stage between the normal group, the right group and the bilateral group. The amount of bleeding in the routine group, the right group and the bilateral group decreased gradually; The bilateral group total lymph nodes and thoracic lymph nodes was higher than that of the right group and routine group(P < 0.01);and there was no significant difference between other groups operation. Conclusion: It is security and feasibility that Mckeown-type minimally invasive esophagectomy with para-recurrent laryngeal nerve lymphadenectomy.
