Objective:It is important to understand the anatomic location and variation of the mandibular canal,CBCT provides a theoretical basis and clinical guidance for mandibular implant surgery and mandibular molar extraction and sagittal split ramus osteotomy. The purpose of this study is to analyze the incidence and the type of the bifid mandibular canal by using cone beam computed tomography in a Uygur adult. Methods:A total of 214 patients were collected in the first affiliated hospital of xinjiang medical university from 2014 to 2016,A total of 214 patients who underwent CBCT were CBCT were included in this study. The CBCT images were evaluate for the incidence and the type of the bifid mandibular canal. The left and right sides of the study(n=428)were performed in the sagittal, coronal, transverse and three-dimensional panoramic images to reconstruct and evaluate the image. To observe the patients with or without the mandibular branch,to describe the variation of the branch and its trend and to make a statistical analysis. Results:Uighur patients 214 cases(428 sides),51 cases(23.8%)of the mandibular bifid canal was observed, the female 31 cases(14.48%),the male 20 cases(9.34%)found that the mandibular canal Bifid in 1 case, the most frequently encountered type of bifid canal was the forward canal(8.88%),followed by the retromolar(8.41%)the dental canal type(4.67%)and the buccolingual(1.87%).Conclusion:The use of CBCT not only can clearly observe the three-dimensional images of the mandibular canal, but also can accurately show the location and the walking of the mandibular nerve tube, which will greatly reduce the incidence of complications.Use of CBCT can observe well mandibular bifid canals with or without the Anatomical structure. In this paper, through a retrospective analysis of 214 cases of Uygur adult mandibular nerve tube CBCT,found that the mandibular bifid canals in uygur adults is lower than that of other ethinc groups, but it is consistent with domestic research, has clinical practical value to choose the appropriate treatment plan.
