Summary: With the improvement of surgical techniques and instruments, minimal invasive surgery, includes lateral lumbar interbody fusion,is getting popular. But most of clinical trials established their conclusions on results of trials included both adult idiopathic scoliosis and adult degenerative scoliosis patients. The heterogeneity introduced indirectness in their results, which diminished the generalizability of the final conclusions.Object: The object of this study is to evaluate the effect of lateral lumbar interbody fusion on adult degenerative scoliosis patients.Method: We retrospectively analyzed the data from medical records of adult degenerative scoliosis patients who were treated with lateral lumbar interbody fusion.Their radiographic outcomes, including coronal and sagittal restoration, and clinical outcomes, including VAS,ODI,and complication ratios were collected and analyzed.Result: Medical records of 26 patients were collected and their data were analyzed.Compared with pre-OP,patients had significant coronal restoration and VAS and ODI improvement after operation. No permanent neurological complications were observed. Conclusion: Lateral lumbar interbody fusion is a proper technique for treating adult degenerative scoliosis. But neural monitoring and internal fixation technique should be implemented.
