Sapindus delavayi,a special species comes from Sapindus genus,Sapindaceae family,distributed in midland and northwest of Yunnan Province.At present,none development and utilization of species were gotten except a little components and bioactivity of it were reported in literatrues.Therefore,it should be a potential species in the future.In part ?,the total saponins of S.delavayi was evaluated for application in cleansing cosmetics.Spectrophotometry method was chosen to measure it,including chromogenic system,acid consumption,coloration time,coloration temperature,stability and precision.Results: the average content of samples was 287.81 mg/g,RSD% was 1.04%,and RSD of precision was 1.07%.It was a rapid,simple and accurate method to measure the total saponins of S.delavayi,which provided the data to technology improvement and raw material evaluation.The total saponins and seven commonly used surfactants(LAS,APG-1214,1831,AOS,K12,ALS,and AES)were compared in the emulsification and the foam properties,the foam properties of the mating system was studied,and the relationship of foam properties and total saponins concentration was investigated.Results showed that the total saponins of emulsion stability and emulsifying power were higher than the rest of the seven kinds of surfactants,the time of the total saponins' emulsion stabilitied to 37'14",and emulsifying power achieved to 35.97%,emulsifying power of diesel oil also reached 14.45 mg/mg.The total saponins showed excellent emulsifying performance,even up to 373 ml in 50 ?,5 g/L,H5 reach to 307 ml.It was showed that total saponins was a natural surfactant with good foaming power andfoam stability,which was gradually increasing with the increase of the concentration.Foaming ability stabled and foam stability was still on the rise when up to 12 g/L.The mixing of cationic surfactant(1831)and the total saponins,the mixing of anionic surfactant(LAS)and the total saponins descented the foam stability.However,the mixing of nonionic surfactant(APG-1214)and the total saponins had a significant upgrade on foaming power and foam stability.What's more,the pH of the total saponins was 7.45,which was benefit for its stability.In part ?,the safety of the total saponins had been researched.Results: median lethal dose(LD50)is 3834.4 mg/kg when administered orally to mice,95% range was2561.2-10666 mg/kg,indicated low toxicity;Rats did not show poisoning symptoms after dermal toxicity by body weight doses of 2200 mg/kg,indicated micro toxicity;At the most concentration 285.7 mg/mL(0.5 mL)which showed unstimulation under multiple tests for skin irritation.Therefore,it was safe for the using of the total saponins of S.delavayi.In part ?,the chemical compositions of total saponins from the pericarps of S.delavayi.were studied.26 compounds has been isolated from the total saponins by column chromatography on silica gel,RP-18 and so on.20 compounds were identified through spectra analysis(1H-NMR?13C-NMR?ESI-MS?HMBC?HSQC?COSY and TOCSY),including two new compounds named as Pyishiauoside ?b?Pyishiauoside ?a;The other compounds were Saponin C(3)?mukuroziosides ?b(4)?mukuroziosides ?a(5)?Mukurozi-saponin Y2(6)?Sieboldianoside A(7)?Mukurozi-saponin Y1(8)? Sapinmusaponin F(9)?11(S)(E,E)-2,6-dodecadiene-3,7,11-trimethyl-1,12-diol-1-O-?-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1?2)-[?-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1?3)]-?-D-glucopyranoside-12-O-?-L-rhamnopyranos yl-(1?2)-?-D-glucopyranoside.(10))?Pyishiauoside ?b(11)?Raraoside A(12)?Decaisoside D(13)?Sapindoside B(14)?Saponin A(15)?Sapinmusaponin G(16)?4-O-Acetyl Mukuroziosides ?a(17)?Mukurozi-saponin X(18)?Sapinmusaponin H(19)?mukuroziosides ?a(20).Chemical compositions of the total saponins has been gotten,which provided basis to the development and quality control of S.delavayiIn part ?,anti-inflammatory activity was researched in the paper.The resultsshowed that the total saponins of high and low dose could inhibit ear swelling of mice caused by dimethylbenzene through the mouth given medicine,which had significant difference from model control group;Total saponins of low-dose group could inhibit ear swelling of mice caused by dimethylbenzene through the daub to medicine,compared with model control group(purified water),difference was very significant.Total saponins of Escherichia coli,Staphylococcus aureus,Candida albicans,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Malassezia furfur,Trichophyton rubrum and Trichophyton mentagrophytes antibacterial rate were 64%,85%,87%,85%,30%,52% and 55%.Therefore,the total saponins has the certain anti-inflammatory activity and the bacteriostasis.In this paper,based on the foam property of Sapindus genus and rich in natural resources of S.delavayi,the chemical constitutes and bioactivity of the species were deeply researched in order to apply it to cleansing cosmetic.
