Clinical Research On The Treatment Of Traumatic Optic Atrophy With Acupuncture Combined Traditional Chinese Medicine

Objective: Observation on the crative effect of traumatic optic atrophy with acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine.Method: According to parallel randomized controll,40 cases of patients(46eyes)with traumatic optic atrophy were randomly divided into treatment group and control group.Control group were given methylcobalamin.The cases in treatment group were done with acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine Xiaoyaosiwu decoction besides the treatment of methylcobalamin taken in control group.All groups were treated for 30 days as 1 course,follow up for 30 days.Observing patients' vision,visual field,the report of F-VEP,the report of OCT and the total score at the beginning of the group division versus the end of the test.Result: The final number of cases were 40(46 eyes),including 20 cases(23 eyes)in treatment group and control group.(1)The result of baseline data analysis shows that there is no significant difference between two groups before the test in sex,age,which eye was sick,course of disease,the scores of all items(p>0.05),which has the comparability.(2)After comparing the main indexes of two groups before and after the test,the scores of treatment group about vision and visual field decline(p<0.01),the control group had no significant difference(p>0.05).After comparing the results of P wave before and after the test,both two groups' incubation is shorter than before and both two groups' amplitude is higher.The main symptom such as headache,eye pain and insomnia in treatment group alleviate(p<0.01),the symptoms of headache and eye pain in control group alleviate after treatment(p<0.05).The mean value of RNFL of control group is lower than before(p < 0.01)and the experimental group had no significant difference(p>0.05).Conclusion: 1.The crative effect of traumatic optic atrophy with acupuncture combined with traditonal Chinese medicine Xiaoyaosiwu decoction is better than the effect with methylcobalamin only.It can improve patient's vision,visual field and makes the P wave's incubation shorter and amplitude higher than before and ease the symptom such as headache,eye pain and insomnia,improve the condition of qi and blood stasis.2.The treatment of traumatic optic atrophy with acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine Xiaoyaosiwu decoction has no side effects.
