Objective: To discuss the role of mitofusion 2(Mfn2)in unstable angina and type 2diabetes and its correlation with the degree of coronary artery stenosis, the serum level of Mfn2 of unstable angina group(UA group),unstable angina with type 2 diabetes group(UA with T2 DM group)and control group was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Methods: A case-control study method was adopted.114 patients from January 2016 to September 2016 in the Department of Cardiology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College were divided into three groups according to coronary angiography results combined with whether they had type 2 diabetes or not: 66 cases of UA group;22 cases of UA with T2 DM group;26 cases of control group. The basic information of each of the above groups collected contained clinical data(gender, age, weight, height, etc)and clinical biochemical indexes(fasting blood glucose, blood lipids, etc). At the same time, the serum concentration of Mfn2 was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Result:1.There were no statistically significant differences in gender, age, body mass index(BMI),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),systolic blood pressure(SBP)as well as smoking history between the three groups(UA group,UA with T2 DM group and control group)(P>0.05).2.The serum levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)of the three groups(UA group,UA with T2 DM group and control group)respectively were 0.97±0.22 mmol/l,0.80 ± 0.14 mmol/l,1.23 ± 0.17 mmol/l.And there were significant differences between the three groups in both the overall comparison and the multiple comparisons(P<0.05).The serum levels of triglyceride(TG)of the three groups respectively were 1.90±1.39 mmol/l,2.17±1.96 mmol/l,0.93±0.48 mmol/l.And there were significant differences between the three groups. The serum levels of TG of the UA group and UA with T2 DM group were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the UA group and the UA with T2 DM group(P>0.05).Furthermore there were no significant differences between the three groups in total cholesterol(CHO)and low density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDH-C).The serum levels of fasting plasma glucose(FPG)in the three groups respectively were 4.73±0.91 mmol/l,7.44±2.44 mmol/l,4.89±0.48 mmol/l.And there were significant differences between the three groups. Moreover, the level of FPG of the UA with T2 DM group was significantly higher than the other two groups(P<0.05),but there were no significant differences between the UA group and control group(P>0.05).3.The serum levels of Mfn2 of the three groups respectively were 8.05± 1.05ng/ml,6.95 ±1.13 ng/ml,8.78± 1.04 ng/ml.And there were significant differences between the three groups in both the overall comparison and the multiple comparisons(P<0.05).4.Coronary artery stenosis degree in the UA with T2 DM group was significantly higher than the UA group. And coronary artery narrow count was primarily three in the UA with T2 DM group, but in the UA group it was primarily one or two.5.The serum level of Mfn2 of the UA with T2 DM group was negatively correlated with the Gensini score and FPG(r=-0.688,P<0.05;r=-0.692,P<0.05).But the serum level of Mfn2 of the UA group was not correlated with the Gensini score and FPG(r=0.141,P>0.05;r=0.193,P>0.05).The serum level of Mfn2 of the control group was not correlated with FPG.And the serum level of Mfn2 of the three groups was not correlated with blood lipids.Conclusion:1.The serum levels of Mfn2 of the UA group and UA with T2 DM group were significantly lower than the control group. It may be associated with the occurrence and development of unstable angina and type 2 diabetes.2.The serum level of Mfn2 can be used to assess the severity of coronary artery stenosis of unstable angina patients with type 2 diabetes.
