Objective:To analysis of risk factors in young and middle-aged diabetes mellitus patients with carotid artery plaque,to provide clinical evidences for effective intervention against the development and progression of macrovascular complications in diabetes among young and middle-aged adults.Objects and Methods:The ultrasound results of carotid arteries in 402 cases the 18-60 year old young and middle-aged patients with diabetes mellitus from January 2014 to september 2016 in physical examination of yanbian University Hospital were divided in the CAP group(IMT?1.5mm)including 202subjects,Non-CAP group(IMT<1.5mm)including 200subjects,or the healthy group including 174 subjects. Each patients record the height, weight, blood pressure and fasting blood glucose, blood lipids, blood uric acid were measured and analyzed.Results:1.The formation of carotid plaque in the diabetes group was significantly frequent than that in the healthy group,When comparing with carotid plaques different age groups, increased incidence was observed in elderly patients in both the healthy control and diabetes groups, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);General information and biochemical indicators in the diabetes group were all superior to the healthy group, presenting statistically significant differences(P<0.01)· 3.Among subgroups of the diabetes group, obvious differences were detected in TC,LDL-C,FBG,SBP and the history of diabetes between the CAP group and the non-CAP group(P<0.05);4.Diabetes combined with the formation of carotid plaque was evidently different between male and female(P<0.01);Statistical significance was detected in the formation of carotid plaque among smoking history ?15 years and>15 years(P<0.01).6.1n logistic regression analysis,LDL-C,SBP,FBG,diabetes history and smoking years,as adjusted for the other factors, were shown to be the independent risk factors for diabetes associated with carotid plaque formation(OR 1.804,95%CI(1.304-2.496),P<0.01 OR 1.022,95%CI(1.010-1.033),P<0.01;OR 1.169,95%CI(1.054-1.297),P<0.05;OR 1.174,95%CI(1.096-1.252),P<0.01;OR 1.190,95%CI(1.101-1.278),P<0.01)).Conclusions:1.The history of diabetes and FBG in young and middle-aged patients are one of the important risk factors of carotid plaque formation;2.Advanced age,SBP,TC,LDL-C,overweight and smoking history can also significantly affect the formation of carotid plaque in young and middle-aged diabetes patients;3.The risk of carotid plaque formation in young male diabetes patients was higher than that in female diabetes patients.
