Objective:To compare the effect of two methods of insert PICC with no scalpels technique and scalpels technique,in order to explore a more safe and effective technique of inserting PICC.Methods:It is a randomized controlled Tria1.436 paitents who should inserted PICC at Sir Run Run Show Hospital were randomly divided into control group and experimental group. There are two different type PICC used in hospital:single lumen PICC and double lumen PICC.Every type have 218 patient.one half cases in each group. In the control group,After the success of puncture,we put the guide wire, use the scalpels to cut the skin off, then put the catheter sheath into the vein.In the experimental group,After the success of puncture,we put the guide wire, and use the catheter sheath itself instead of scalpels to cut the skin off, then put the catheter sheath into the vein directly. The successful rate of two methods, staxis in postoperative 24 hours,48 hours,96 hours and exudation in postoperative one week, were observed and compared between two groups.Results:409 patients had completed data collection procedures,104 patients in control group of single lumen PICC,101 patients in experimental group of single lumen PICC,101 patients in control group of double lumen PICC,103 patients in experimental group of double lumen PICC.And anther 27patients had lost. There were no differences of gender, age, diagnosis and situation of inserting between two methods. There were no differences of the successfull rate and staxis in postoperative 24 hours between two methods. But there were differences of staxis in postoperative 48 hours 96 hours and exudation in postoperative one week. Conclusion:Application of no scalpels technique can cause less staxis in postoperative 48 hours,72hours and exudation in postoperative, thus it also can reduce the incidence of related infections and other complications. The method is simple and feasible.
