Traditional Chinese medicine Chuanminshen from Umbelliferae Chuanminshen violaceum Sheh et Shan. It commonly and amountly be used to medicinal qr for food. but few of their quality and safety research reported.In the 2005 edition of "Sichuan Chinese Materia Medica Standards", only record traits, microscopic and TLC of Chuanmingshen, no quality and safety evaluation. Therefore, the present study for Chuanmingshen is to comprehensive evaluate its quality and safety.First, established UPLC method for the Chuanmingshen iso anise lactone (a), Imperatorin (b), isoimperatorin (c),7-hydroxycoumarin (d) and 7-methyl coumarin (e) 5 coumarins active ingredient content.33 Chuanmingshen samples were collected from different places and determined. The results showed that the content of the component a. b, c were 6.399 ?g/g,75.480 ?g/g,3.556 ?g/g; component d. e in all samples was not detected. According to geographical distribution, the origin of these 33 samples are divided into 5 areas, with/-test to compare the content of each of these components in the sample places, found that the quality differences from the sample places are larger, Jintang and Qingbaijiang place are best.Second, established a method of spectrophotometer Chuanmingshen polysaccharide content by UV. measured 33 Chuanmingshen samples from different origin. The results showed that the samples Chuanmingshen polysaccharide content in the range of 4.31-22.74%. According to geographical distribution, the origin of all samples are divided into 5 areas, Mest to compare the sample areas Chuanmingshen content of polysaccharides, large differences between different areas of the sample, the highest river in the county Chuanmingshen polysaccharide content of the samples.Third, established a method of ICP-MS and AAS to determinate inorganic nutrients elements and heavy metal elements in Chuanmingshen samples, measured 33 Chuanmingshen samples from different origins. The results showed that Chuanmingshen inorganic nutrients Sr, Mn, Zn, B, K, Ca, Na, Fe, Mg content is high (greater than 1 ?g/g), low levels of Se, Mo, Co, Li elements (less than 1 ?g/g). The 6 heavy metal elements Ph,Cd, Hg, Cu, As, Cr content in range of 0.005?3.963 ?g/g. All samples were divided into 5 areas, the application t-test to compare five areas of inorganic nutrients elements and heavy metals elements, no significant difference in different areas.Thus it can be seen that the content of Chuanmingshen coumarin and polysaccharide components higher and have high medicinal and therapeutic value. In Sichuan Province, eight counties/districts of Chuanmingshen the main origin of the 33 samples, the content of Pb, Cd, Hg, Cu, As, Cr elements in line with Chinese "import and export of medicinal plants and preparation of green industry standards", and also with the United States NSF/ANSI 173-2010 standard, indicating that heavy metals in Sichuan production Chuanmingshen up to stamdard, quality safety.
