| Objective:The aims of this study were to obtain the characteristics of Suzhou hemodialysis patients with Chronic Renal Failure, ascertain the differences of dialysis effect between different patients and find the risk factors which would impact the dialysis effect through a cross-sectional investigation. Methods:From December 2015 to April 2016,hemodialysis patients from the dialysis center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University and Suzhou Municipal Hospital were investigated.Their case reports were also checked in order to get data.SPSS 17.0 statistical software was utilized to analyze the data.T test was used to compare the mean between different groups,?2 test was used to compare the rate between different groups.Single-factor logistic regression and multi-factor logistic regression were utilized to explore the association between complications and risk factors. Results:This study collected 306 valid questionnaires including 168 males and 138 females. The average age was 56.3±15.64 years. The average dialysis time was 5.7±4.4 years. The mainly frequency of hemodialysis was three times per week.Women had a lower cultural level than men.Men had higher rate of smoking and drinking compared with women.Among the chronic diseases which patients was suffered from before dialysis, prevalence of hypertension was the highest(75.82%),followed by diabetes(17.97%),cardiovascular disease(9.15%),stroke(5.88%),emphysema(3.59%)and cancer(2.61%).The rate of diabetes and cancer had significant differences among different sex groups.Men had a higher prevalence of diabetes and lower prevalence of cancer compared with women.Complications occurred in 145 patients(47.38%)including 45 cases of infection(14.7%),21 cases of cardiovascular disease(6.7%),63 cases of renal bone disease(20.5%),16 cases of bleeding(5.2%).In 45 cases of infection,27 cases of respiratory infection accounted for 60%.And it was followed by catheter infection with 15 cases(33.3%),gastrointestinal infection with 4 cases(8.9%).Single-factor logistic regression and multi-factor logistic regression showed that age, year of dialysis and gender had association with complications. With the increase of age and length(year)of dialysis, the risk of complication increased(P < 0.05).Women had lower risk of complication compared to men. Conclusion:This study showed that the prevalence of complications was 47.38% among the hemodialysis patients with chronic renal failure. The risk of complication increased with the increase of age and length(year)of dialysis.Women had lower risk of complication compared to men.The elderly, long dialysis year and male patients should be paid attention to avoid occurrence of complication. |
