A Review On The Effect Of Clinical Nursing Pathway For Chinese Adult Diabetes

Objective: To evaluate the effect of clinical nursing pathway and Integrative Medicine clinical nursing pathways on Chinese adult diabetes,in order to provide evidence for the nursing of diabetes mellitus in the future.Methods: The eligible studies were included by searching Cochrane Library,Joannna Briggs Institute library,Medline,Pub Med,CNKI,VIP,and WANFANG DATA.Two reviewers independently screened the studies for eligibility,evaluated the quality and extracted the data from the eligible studies,with confirmation of cross-check.The quality of included studies such as selection bias,performance bias,detection bias,attrition bias,reporting bias,select reporting the results of the study and other bias was evaluated.Different opinions would be decided by the third party.Meta-analysis was performed by using Rev Man 5.3 software.After heterogeneity test,data without heterogeneity could be polled by using fixed effect model,and those with heterogeneity could be solved by sensitivity analysis,subgroup analysis as well as randomized effect model.We will compare outcome measures for binary data by using relative risks(RR)with95% confidence intervals(CI).For continuous data,the weighted means difference(WMD)will be used.Results: 81 studies of the clinical nursing pathway(CNP)were included with total 9320 participants.After 2 weeks of CNP intervention,the knowledge of the type 2 diabetes mellitus,satisfaction rate and the compliance of the patients in CNP group was higher than those of the conventional nursing group;but the fasting plasma glucose(FPG)and 2 hour plasma glucose(2h PG)was lower than the conventional nursing group.After 1 week of CNP intervention,the compliance rate of the patients in CNP group was higher than those of the conventional nursing group,but the FPG and 2h PG levels was lower.There was no difference between two groups in the knowledge of diabetes and satisfaction rate.6 studies of the Integrative Medicine clinical nursing pathways(IMCNP)were included with total 752 participants.The hospitalization cost,FPG and 2h PG were described.We compared the knowledge of diabetes,satisfaction rate,hospitalization time of patients in two groups by meta-analysis.The results showed that the knowledge of diabetes and satisfaction rate of the patients in IMCNP group was higher than that of the routine nursing group,but the hospitalization time was lower than the routine nursing group.Conclusion: The clinical nursing pathway used for 2 weeks can improve knowledge of diabetes mellitus,satisfaction rate and the compliance,ameliorate the blood sugar levels and reduce hospitalization time and hospitalization cost.Because of the low quality of trials,more rigorous randomized clinical trials will be required to verify these results in the future.
