Objective:Investigating the intervention effect of different exercise patterns on middle-aged and elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis in order to provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of knee osteoarthritisMethods:Regarding the elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis in community as the rese-arch object, recruiting 140 volunteers accord with the requirements in Fuzhou District.Adopting randomized control design, divided into Tai Chi group,Baduanjin group,cy-cling group and health educatition group, each group of 35 people.According to the N-ational Wushu Tai Chi in the "eight Style Tai Chi" as the standard for Tai Chi group,Baduanjin group according to 2003 the State Sports General Administration promulg-ated the "HealthQigong Baduanjin" as the standard. The practice of three groups for a-bout 60 minutes,5 times a week, lasting for 12 weeks. The health education group to keep regular lifestyle before,in addition to the weekly lectures of health education.B-efore and after the training, assess relevant outcomes such as knee pain, knee stiffness, physical function, balance function, walk ability and the quality of life.Knee pain,stif-fness,physiologic function were assessed by WOMAC knee osteoarthritis score scale, balance function was assessed by Berg balance scale, walk ability was measured thro-ugh the six minute walk test, quality of life was assessed by 36-Items Short Form He-alth Survey.Results:1.Difference between groups before and after intervention, compared with health education group, patients of the Tai Chi group and cycling group with WOMAC pain score was significant reduced, the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05),the difference has no statistical significance(P>0.05)among the other groups.2.Difference between groups before and after intervention, compared with health educcation group, patients of the Tai Chi group with WOMAC stiffness score was significant reduced, the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05),the difference has no statistical significance(P>0.05)among the other groups.3.Difference between groups before and after intervention, compared with the health education group, patients of the Tai Chi group?Baduanjin group and cycling group with WOMAC physiologic function score was significant reduced, the differe-nce has statistical significance(P<0.05),the difference has no statistical significance(P>0.05)among the other groups.4.Difference between groups before and after intervention, the difference of Balance function score has no statistical significance(P>0.05)among the four groups.5.Difference between groups before and after intervention, the difference of six minutes walk score has no statistical significance(P>0.05)among the four groups.6.Difference between groups before and after intervention, four groups of the sc-ore in PF,RP,MHof 36-Items ShortForm Health Survey(SF-36)were significantly i-mproved,the difference has statisticcal significance(P<0.05).Compared with the he-alth education group, patients of the Tai Chi group and Baduanjin group with PF,RP score was significant improved and compared with the health education group,patien-ts of the Tai Chi group with MH score was significant improved, the difference has st-atistical significance(P<0.05),the difference has no statistical significance(P>0.05)among the other groups. The score of GH,SF,BP,VT,RE for SF-36 no significant cha-nges were observed between the four groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Compared with health education,12 week Tai Chi,Baduanjin and cycling trai-ning could improve the physiologic function of patients with knee osteoarthritis,Tai Chi and cycling training could significantly improve patients with knee pain.In add-ition,Tai Chi training could significantly improve patients with knee stiffness,phy-sical function and mental health.Baduanjin training could improve patients with ph-ysical function.
