Objective To cofirm whether the 5-HT1 A receptors from amygdala and hippocampus are involved in the formation of delirium behaviour of rats with scopolamine induced delirium. Methods Thirty-two rats were randomly devided into 4 grups(n=8), including peritoneal injection of 1 ml normal saline(NS group), 1.8 mg?kg scopolamine(S group), 1.8 mg?kg scopolamine and Amygdala injection of WAY100635(W+S BLA group),1.8 mg?kg scopolamine and hippocampal injection of WAY100635(W+S HIPPO group). The mood and behaviour of the 4 groups were examined in every 5minutes of 45 minutes by open field test, record the frequency of rearing, path of the central part, average speed, and path of the peripheral part.Results(1) Compared to NS group, the frequency of rearing ?path of the central part?average speed and path of the peripheral part of S group were increased obviously in S group(P?0.05).(2) Compared to S group, path of the central part in(W+S) BLA group were similar(P?0.05), the frequency of rearing?average speed and path of the peripheral part in(W+S) BLA group were different(P?0.05); path of the peripheral part and average speed in(W+S) HIPPO group were similar(P?0.05), the frequency of rearing and path of the central part in(W+S) HIPPO group were different(P?0.05).(3) Compared to NS group, the frequency of rearing?average speed and path of the peripheral part in(W+S) BLA group were similar(P?0.05), path of the central part in(W+S) BLA group were different(P?0.05); the frequency of rearing and path of the central part in(W+S) HIPPO group were similar(P?0.05), average speed and path of the peripheral part in(W+S) HIPPO group were different(P?0.05).Conclusions The 5-HT1 A receptors from amygdala are involved in the formation of motion excting delirium symptoms of rats induced by scopolamine indced delirium;the 5-HT1 A receptors from hippocampus are involved in the formation of spatial learning and memory impairment delirium symptoms of rats induced by scopolamine indced delirium.
